OUR STORY

Drake & Chelsea

As we're sitting down together to write this, we can't remember how the story of us started. Which is probably just a nod to our fried, toddler parent brains... but honestly it's a great place to start. Because it's always been us. 

We started dating at thirteen in seventh grade at CY Junior High. This may seem like a picture perfect meet cute, but, trust us, it was far from cute. Chelsea had a thick bang she is still refusing to call a mullet and Drake wore Etnies skater shoes equivalent to his body weight. Despite our immense awkwardness and teenage angst, we saw something in one another.

One of Drake's friends asked Chelsea out for him. She, of course, said yes. The rest lies in memories of: late night landline conversations, holding hands in the hallway, longboarding until the summer sun set, and panicking mid-makeout when Chelsea's dad slowly, yet intentionally made his way down the basement stairs. 

We may have been young, but we taught each other how to love. & that home in one another never went away.

We broke it off before high school, but always found our way back to each other: in-between relationships, in college, and in 2022 when Chels ran into Drake wine tipsy one night out on the town with her girlfriends after she moved home. Chelsea's mysterious, grown city girl allure didn't last long as a week later she invited him over for brunch and to "set up her TV stand", and we've quite literally been inseparable ever since. 

Fast forward: four years, four animals, two houses, a daughter, and an engagement; and we're putting roots down on this little family of ours. 

We feel beyond lucky to have found a true love like this and to have the opportunity to raise a family and build a life together. It's what we've always prayed for! However, we can't celebrate this next chapter without you - the people who have made us into who we are.
